Hazel Lim was admitted as an Advocate & Solicitor of the High Court of Malaya in April 2016. Upon completion of pupillage with Messrs Shook Lin & Bok, she was confirmed as an associate with Shook Lin & Bok’s banking and financial litigation department for 1 1/2 years before joining KSH.
LEGAL EXPERIENCE AND EXPERTISE
- Acted for banks in numerous debt recovery actions involving civil, foreclosure, execution, bankruptcy and winding-up proceedings.
- Acted for a Bank in an action brought by a contributory and an unsecured creditor of a company in liquidation, to set aside a consent judgment entered under s.236(1)(c) Companies Act between, inter alia, the Bank, the liquidator and a third party.
- Acted for a financial institution in resisting a discovery application brought by an individual who claimed to be a customer of the financial institution more than 20 years ago and successfully struck out his said application.
- Acted for a Bank in defending an action brought by a customer of the Bank seeking for, inter alia, damages in relation to purported negligence in performing a telegraphic transfer transaction.
- Acted for a Bank in defending an action brought by a third party involving allegations of negligence in opening of bank account and cashing of cheques by an imposter.
- Acted for various financial institutions in setting aside an ex-parte restraining order obtained by a creditor of a company in liquidation.
- Acted for an Australian company in winding-up proceedings against a local company.
- Acted for a financial institution in resisting an application brought by a creditor of a company in liquidation to remove the liquidator of the said company.
- Acted for a Bank in defending an action brought by a customer of the Bank involving allegations of negligence in the redemption of property.
